Popsicles, who doesn’t love em? Whether it’s hot or cold everyone loves their frozen treats. But have you ever wondered who came up with this wonderful indulgence?

In 1905 an eleven year old by the name of Frank W. Epperson unintentionally left a mixture of soda water powder and water out on his porch overnight. Conveniently, the temperature was a record low which caused his mixture (with the stir stick still inside) to freeze.

18 years later, reminiscing back to his childhood memories, Frank remembered how tasty this treat was and began a business producing seven different fruit flavoured Epsicles, which was later changed to Popsicle.
