World News It's All Relative Did You Know? Opinion On The Streets
There are some men that are larger than life.

There are some men that transcend the TV screen.

There are some men that touch the lives of millions of viewers.

Victor Newman is one of those men.

The man who has been a staple of “The Young and the Restless” for more than 30 years, Newman has become a daytime television icon during his unparalleled tenure as soap opera’s biggest star. Originally intended to be a short-term character for a six-month storyline, Victor Newman quickly developed into a main character and firmly planted himself into the hearts of millions of fans across the globe.

Newman (the character in Y&R) is the Chairman of the Board for “Newman Enterprises”, and according to Wikipedia, Newman’s estimated net worth is anywhere between $18-60 billion. Not only ridiculously wealthy, he is ridiculously ageless! Any diehard Victor Newman fan will tell you, he still looks the exact same as he did 20 years ago.

“The Black Knight” as he’s commonly known throughout the daytime soap world, has a reputation for his long line of wives. His most recurring lover, Nikki Newman, and “the love of his life”, plan to wed again in 2011. We would like to wish The Great Victor Newman all the best on this auspicious and joyous occasion.

Good News Weekly is all about being “fun, modern, and fresh” and this is why we love Victor Newman. The Black Knight loves to have fun, he’s the most modern 70-year-old in the daytime soap business, and his moustache is the definition of fresh.

The sports world has Brett Favre. Hollywood has Michael Douglas. The Music Industry has Neil Young.

The daytime soap world has Victor Newman:  A Man. A Lover. A Legend.

  1. This man certainly is a legend. I was 8 when I started watching The Young and the Restless with my aunt. Victor Newman is indestructible and a truly remarkable character. I cannot imagine this show without him; his rivalry with Jack Abbott and his tumultuous relationship with Nikki are both intriguing story lines that I have come to depend upon.

Thanks so much for this! I know there are a lot of Y&R fans that will enjoy this as much as I have.

Victor is the ultimate figure of power. I wanted to be Victor Newman since my babysitter, my mom and my sisters introduced me to him. Although I have not watched him in years I still have a father-son admiration for him. His son's name is Nic as well... In the media manly figures are being praised these days, being masculine is in. Victor Newman is the lead spokesman on the topic. The Stella Artois guy learned from Victor and I am sure the Old Spice Man has Victor Newman posters on his wall. He is the mans man and when in business negotiations or sticky situations I catch myself asking...what would Victor Newman do?

Victor Newman...he is the kind of man you hate to love, but you just can't stop loving him! No matter how many evil devious things he does, he has that je ne c'est quoi that traps you under his mustache spell!
